Some United Nations soldiers were killed and several others injured after a roadside bomb explosion in Central African Republic, the UN peace-keeping mission there as they said.

The bomb attack occurred on Monday at Kaita village in the north west near the Cameroonian border, the UN mission, Minusca, said late on Tuesday.

The peace-keepers had been carrying out a patrol when one of their vehicles hit the explosive device, killing the Bangladeshi peacekeepers, it said in report.

The head of UN peacekeeping, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, sent his condolences to Bangladesh and families of the soldiers killed in the attack.

No group has been blamed for the attack, but Minusca said it had launched investigations into incident.

The Central African Republic has been plagued by violence and insecurity since a civil war broke out in 2013.
